Clock 4 with Never Connected Power Supply plus extra mods

After a two week burn in the player sounds fantastic. The Clock 4 and Never Connected power supply coupled with some board mods, diodes etc, burr brown opp amps fitted and biased into class a, iec socket mod and a few of my own mods namely loads of sound proofing, isolation feet etc, has turned this humble 90's icon into a real £1000 plus sounding machine and easily beats my cd10 whos demise started my interest in player mods and for a fraction of the price I have a player that partners my £1500 pm17 ki superbly

Many thanks Trichord

Clock 3 fitted to a Marantz CD85

......I would like to say how delighted I am with the results of your work, I was hoping for something tangible, but I never imagined it would be so dramatic! When one goes in for this sort of modification you have to hope for the best, because there is no chance of a comparative audition. Audio memory is notoriously poor, and it is surprising how quickly you can become accustomed to a type of sound reproduction and accept it. Having said that, there was no mistaking the jump in quality of my machine. The extension of the bass depth, the reduction of the spikiness of the treble and the improvement in midrange clarity were all unmistakable, and, as you said, the width and depth of the sound stage have improved. I don't know if being a Sound Engineer holds any sway with you, but you are welcome to use the relevant parts of this letter to endorse your work if you wish.

Clock 2 fitted to AMC player

I hope you aren't bored with letters from satisfied customers. I have had my Clock 2 modified AMC CD player back for a couple of days and I am delighted. Everything I have played so far sounds richer and more vibrant - and I'm having a lot of trouble turning it off.

Clock 2 fitted to a Marantz CD 62

I can't begin to tell you how fantastic I think the mod is, and that's only being run in for 24 hours. To me. It's the first time I have heard a CD costing less than £10.000 that is as alluring and irresistable as my vinyl system. Previously it was adequate, now it is marvellous, as good (I think) as anything else I/ve heard, and I've heard plenty. Incredibly clean extended bass, lovely sweet treble, fantastically spacious and I don't think I have ever experienced soundstaging like it, holographic.

Satisfied Clock 3 customer

Dear Graham & Co.

Thank you for the help on how to fit your Clock 3. I was soon able to get it in place and it worked first time. Even more rewarding has been the improvement to the sound quality of my CD player. Very much in line with the review in Hi Fi World. CD's have become far more enjoyable.

Yours Sincerely,

John Notter

Clock 3 fitted to an Arcam Delta 70.2

Trichord,

Thanks for the Clock 3 system you fitted to my Arcam Delta 70.2 last week - a remarkable transformation, obvious from the firstdisc I played. Everything a great deal more natural: more detail, more dynamics, better stereo etc etc. I just had to listen tomusic for the rest of the weekend. Great service, too!

Trichord Powerleads

Hi Graham

I thought you might be interested in a little feedback on my latest system upgrade. I've now been using the Trichord distribution board/high current leads you sent me for my four Alectos for enough time to evaluate their effect on my system. I have to admit that I didn't expect any obvious improvement in the already rather splendid sound I was getting especially after the major step up provided by the large mains transformer you supplied. Getting them was more a matter of principle; I didn't want the power amp leads to be inferior to the Kimber leads on the Orca, CD transport, DAC, etc.

Having said that, I am amazed at their contribution. The most noticeable effect is a substantial improvement in image placement. I know that almost holographic imaging is one of the great strengths of the Orca/Alecto system. The Trichord leads seem to allow the full potential of this aspect to be expressed. I still find it hard to accept that mains quality and connections play such a major part in hi fi performance but the proof is there to hear every time I listen.

Congratulations on another excellent product The high current leads may well (dare I say it) be even better than the Kimber equivalents costing twice the price! And you may quote me if you wish!

Powerblock 500 with Naim Amplification

Dear Graham,

I just would like to inform you that I am most impressed with the Powerblock 500 I recently purchased. There is no way that this item will be returned for a refund!

The mains hum emanating from the Naim 250 power amplifier and Hi-Cap have been almost completely eliminated to the extent that you have to listen very carefully indeed, and at close quarters, to hear anything at all. Neither has the hum been transferred to the Powerblock itself.

In addition, the other bonus is that there is a very definite improvement in sound quality, although I always find it very hard to explain in words exactly what "improvement" means!

That is irrelevant; what does matter is that the Powerblock 500 is an excellent product and I consider the £300 has been very well spent.

Thank you for your assistance and excellent service. Kind regards,

Yours sincerely,

Dr Colin Stray.
