The Trichord Powerblock series of AC mains conditioners have been designed specifically for use in conjunction with high quality domestic audio systems for the specific purpose of improving sound quality.
Several types of noise and distortion are reduced with the use of these conditioners. The key parameter is the reduction of 'common mode' noise, that is noise and distortion that is equal to both the live and neutral wires on the incoming mains.

The Powerblock 500 will provide up to 500VA (500 watts) of continuous mains power, and 2500VA (2500 watts) of short term transient power. This is sufficient to power the majority of domestic Hi Fi systems in use today. However, we recommend that for best performance a considerable margin of latitude is allowed. Therefore we suggest that for stereo systems of up to 100 watts per channel, the Powerblock 500 will be sufficient. If your power amplifiers are greater than 100 watts per channel then either use one Powerblock 500 for each channel or use the Powerblock 1000 (1000VA of continuous power) to run the whole system.
